Youth Ambassador Program for Minorities - 2011
Want to have a meaningful and fruitful summer? Want to make friends from different parts of the world? Here comes the chance! Collaborate with elites from top universities in China and the United States and have a better understanding about the minority cultures in China.
Program details
TECC (Technology & Education: Connecting Cultures) is currently recruiting students from tertiary institutions in Hong Kong as volunteers for the Youth Ambassador Program for Minorities (YAPM) 2011.
With the rapid modernization of China, the distinctive cultures of ethnic minorities are diminishing in many provinces. We need your help to arouse the local youths there about the value of their cultures and teach them to conserve their own cultures which are vulnerable to city invasion.
Successful applicants will have a chance to lead a group of mainland youths to explore the local culture in the respective areas through several kinds of research methods with the support from local government and education institutions. They can also work with other volunteers from the Stanford University, Peking, Tsinghua, Shanghai Fudan, Shanghai Jiaotong University for around 2 weeks during July and August. This year our program will be conducted in Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Gansu and Tibet province.
