Background of TECC

Technology & Education: Connecting Cultures (TECC) is a non-profit organization devoted to leading teams of US and Chinese students in carrying out social projects focused on Technology & Education. In Hong Kong, TECC is registered as society in accordance with Section 5A(1) of the Societies Ordinance. It is registered as a non-profit corporation in California, USA. TECC also established 2 chapters in Beijing and Shanghai.

TECC was initiated by students from the University of Hong Kong, Stanford University and Tsinghua University, aiming at improving the standard of living and future prospects in the poor inland regions through increased access to technology, increased global communication through the internet, and education.

Currently, we have mobilized tremendous student support and involvement, growing to include over 100 officers. TECC has established teams in the US, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Officers include students from Stanford University, Northwestern University, Harvard University, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, City University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, University of Shanghai Jiaotong, and Shanghai International Studies University.
